Talk - Beyond coercive education

Peter Hartkamp (Nederland)

Peter Hartkamp (1961), after studying mining engineering at the Technical University in Delft and working for a Dutch Petroleum Company, moved in 1994 with his wife and three daughters to the Sultanate of Oman, where the children attended a Dutch primary school. In 1998, the family moved back to the Netherlands. Since then education, education law and human rights has constantly demanded his attention. He has been co-founder and staff member of three schools, including two Sudbury schools and is currently staff member at Sudbury School Amersfoort. His experience as a strategy consultant helped him with a sharp analysis of education. Peter Hartkamp was also active in the Council of the European Democratic Education Community (EUDEC) and he gives presentations on education and human rights in different countries.
