Talk - sociocracy in a Democratic School

Jacqueline van Ewijk - DOE040 - Veldhoven

Jacqueline van Ewijk took the initiative 10 years ago to establish a democratic school together with like-minded people. After the necessary research into the system of 'majority of votes' and 'sociocracy', it was decided to use the latter method in the school. To this day, this way of sharing opinions and making decisions with consent has proven to be successful for the school and the entire community of 136 schoolmates works satisfactorily.

What are the advantages of sociocracy? Why a 'mediaton circle' instead of a 'legal committee' (JC)? And what are sociocratic elections? Have you always wanted to know more about the power of sociocracy? Come listen, ask questions, contribute and join the discussion.
